La Liga are going to file a lawsuit to ask the French sports minister to cancel all the Paris Saint-Germain players’ contracts signed after June 25, 2021. This includes the likes of former Barcelona star Lionel Messi and French striker Kylian Mbappe. According to MARCA, the Spanish governing body are on a mission to stop Mbappe’s contract from being validated. They will do it through lawyer Juan Branco who, as well as La Liga authorities, believes that PSG are violating the UEFA Financial Fair Play rules. La Liga are absolutely furious they did not secure the services of one of the world’s best and are making serious strides to bring PSG down, feeling as though the contract is “illegal” and goes against Financial Fair Play regulations. If applying to French courts doesn’t help the matter, La Liga will resort to the European Commission and maybe even the Court of Justice of the European Union. Juan Branco said at a press conference in Paris: “Now what we want is the transfer market to be regulated and the [financial] rules of the [Spanish] League, which are very strict, to be expanded across Europe.” “It was expected that this season they would earn €180 Million in player sales [in order] to have financial balance, and they have only sold one player for €7 Million, and on top of that they have extended Mbappe’s contract.” \ Barcelona, who were unable to register Messi’s new deal at the Nou Camp due to not having the funds available, have requested that Branco include the Argentine’s contract. Thus, if Lionel Messi is out of contract, they will be able to sign him back for free. Branco is confident that La Liga will be successful in the case and is even prepared to take proceedings to the European Commission and potentially the Court of Justice of the European Union if they do not win the case. The former Dutch striker Marco Van Basten has had his say on the GOAT debate. The Messi vs Ronaldo rivalry is one of the greatest rivalries in sporting history. The two superstars have been dominating the sport for the past decade. And what is more intense is the fight between their fans over who is the greatest footballer of all time. The GOAT debate is always split up between these two superstars and football fans all around the world are always engaged in the rivalry for the greatest. Marco van Basten was a great player himself. The Dutchman is regarded as one of the greatest strikers in the history of the sport. He won the Ballon d’Or three times during his career (1988, 1989, 1992). He won three European Cup titles with AC Milan and won Euro 1988 with his national team, the Netherlands. According to Corriere dello Sport, per the Daily Mail. Van Basten said: “Cristiano is a great player, but those who say he is better than Messi know nothing about football, or they are saying it in bad faith.” “Messi is one of a kind. Impossible to imitate and impossible to repeat. A player like him comes along every 50 or 100 years. As a kid, he fell into the football genius pot.” However, that wasn’t the only controversial thing said in the interview by the Dutch legend. Van Basten did not include Messi nor Ronaldo in his top three greatest players of all time. “Pele, Maradona and Cruyff are for me the three greatest players in history,” Van Basten told Marca. “As a kid I wanted to be like Cruyff. He was my friend. I miss him. Pele and Maradona were also incredible. “Messi is also a great player, but Maradona always had more personality in a team. Messi is not the one who puts himself at the front to go to war.” The post “Those Who Say Ronaldo Is Better Than Messi Know Nothing About Football” – Marco Van Basten first appeared on The Football Lovers and is written by David Habib. from https://thefootballlovers.com/ronaldo-messi-marco-van-basten/ Sadio Mane, a forward for Liverpool, is allegedly on the brink of being signed by Bayern Munich for a transfer price of about €40 millionFindings from Sky Sports writer Florian Plettenberg have been referenced by the Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, who claims the reports indicate that Bayern Munich is close to finalizing the agreement to acquire Sadio Mane. The Bavarian powerhouses have struck personal terms agreed with the Liverpool striker, who is expected to sign a deal with the Allianz Arena that would keep him there for three years. Today is the day when Bayern Munich and Liverpool are anticipated to agree on the transfer price, with Plettenberg predicting that the sum will be less than €40 million. It would be a significant victory for Bayern, particularly in light of their recent conflict with Robert Lewandowski. The Polish player has previously stated his wish to leave the Allianz Arena, and rumors have been circulating that he would be moving to Barcelona. Mane has been singled out by Bayern Munich as the player they believe would be the best short-term substitute for Lewandowski. The Senegalese international player is not a number nine by any stretch of the imagination. Nonetheless, he has impressed with his flexibility for Liverpool, and he has even played in a central spot for Jurgen Klopp’s team. The young player, who previously shone for Red Bull Salzburg, has scored goals for fun in the Premier League despite not playing in the traditional position. The fact that the winger for Liverpool also adds speed and skill out wide makes him a superb purchase for Bayern Munich in advance of the new season. Now, what’s next for Bayern Munich?Julian Nagelsmann thinks that the signing of Mane may help Bayern Munich become less dependent on a center striker like Lewandowski. He may make the attack much more versatile and enable them to build a potentially lethal combination consisting of Mane, Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman, and Thomas Muller, even though Gnabry has been linked with a transfer away from Allianz Arena. In the meanwhile, Liverpool had already found the player who would take Mane’s position earlier this week when they signed Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan international has been acquired by Liverpool from SL Benfica for a significant sum of money. The club is hoping that the investment will be profitable in the years to come. The departure of Sadio Mane may be a significant blow to Liverpool. But the club is confident that its current crop of attackers, which includes Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, and Darwin Nunez, will be able to pick up the slack in the years to come. Mane will become Bayern Munich’s third summer signing upon his likely arrival from Liverpool. He will follow in the footsteps of former Ajax teammates Noussair Mazraoui and Ryan Gravenberch, who also signed this summer. It won’t be shocking to see the club authorize the sale of a couple of stars, with Lewandowski and Gnabry emerging as prominent possibilities, considering the club will be getting three new players for the next season. One of the superpowers in European football, teams would fear to be drawn in the same fixture as FC Barcelona. Yet, fast forward a few years later, the club is in one of its worst phases in history. So, what has happened to the Spanish giant? Currently, the club is under €1.3 Billion of debt. Free transfers for Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen might not be registered due to the financial situation. Fans are being allowed to play on the Camp Nou grass for a small fee. And get married while you are at the Camp Nou too, because why not. The situation at FC Barcelona is a total mess. The current president Joan Laporta lied his way through the presidential elections, saying that the situation was under control. Now, everything is coming to light and the whole thing is clearly not manageable. The vice-president Eduard Romeu ended up saying that €500 Million is needed in order to ‘save’ Barcelona. Now, the club president and directors are looking for a way out of this mess. All measures are being discussed. The assembly has approved of selling off a percentage of future revenues from TV rights. Even Frenkie De Jong, arguably the most valuable transfer asset, will likely be allowed to leave for Manchester United to raise funds. Even after all the following problems have come to light, the press has linked almost every player with a move to Camp Nou. However, now we all know that there is a slim chance any big name can be signed with this economic situation. Arguably, one of the toughest things that Barcelona will have to deal with, is making sure Barcelona remains a dream club for all the rising talents around the world. No doubt, they need a team which is worthy of the Spanish giants as well as keep control of their crippling economy. Thus, the next few years, Barcelona will face an uphill battle of their big image, the transfer giants versus the struggling, crippling Barcelona. The post How Barcelona Turned From Messi Into A Mess: The Decline Of The Catalan Club first appeared on The Football Lovers and is written by David Habib. from https://thefootballlovers.com/barcelona-messi-into-a-mess/ Miguel Gutierrez, a product of Real Madrid’s youth system, is supposedly on the verge of being loaned out by the club during the summer transfer windowReal Madrid is reportedly prepared to loan out Miguel Gutierrez, a defensive prospect who is 20 years old, for the next season so that he may gain regular playing experience and continue his development. This information was published in the Spanish journal MARCA. Gutierrez is a product of the Real Madrid youth program and has been on the books of the club for more than a decade, having signed a contract with Real Madrid in 2011 after previously playing for Getafe. The teenage left-back made his debut for Los Blancos in April of the previous year under the management of Zinedine Zidane, who was the manager at that time. He played for Los Blancos a total of six times during the 2020/21 season and even contributed an assist. After Carlo Ancelotti came over as manager for the 2021/22 season, it was anticipated that Gutierrez would be given a more significant role. Despite this, the Italian strategist didn’t employ the youthful full-back nearly as often as he should have. On the other hand, he decided to put his trust in Ferland Mendy, Marcelo, and Nacho Fernandez. It limited Gutierrez to only four senior appearances during the duration of the previous season, even though he performed very well for the Real Madrid Castilla side. He amassed two goals and eight assists from a total of 16 games played. As a result of Marcelo’s departure from Real Madrid this summer, the left-back position is now available but not filled. In addition to this, there have been rumors that the Spanish and European champions are also willing to split ways with Mendy, and that they have placed a worth of €50 million on the French international player. According to a report from MARCA, however, this is not the situation at all, as Carlo Ancelotti and Real Madrid are both pleased with Mendy’s performance and want to keep him on the team beyond the summer break. Even though a successor for Marcelo was going to be found, the acquisition of Antonio Rudiger has made it possible for David Alaba to play left-back instead. In addition, you still have the option of getting Nacho. What will Real Madrid do?As a direct consequence of this, Real Madrid has chosen to scale down their chase of Fran Garcia while also pondering Gutierrez’s long-term prospects. The 20-year-old is considered a high talent. Yet, the club is aware that for him to grow and reach his full potential, he needs to play consistently. As a direct consequence of this, Los Merengues are prepared to sanction the young left-loan back’s departure in the hopes that it would enable him to accumulate more playing time. Given that Real Madrid already has sufficient depth at left-back and that Gutierrez would benefit from playing consistently in another position, this decision seems to be the best option for everyone concerned. The Frenchman rejected a mouth watering offer from Paris Saint Germain, to join his former manager Thomas Tuchel. According to Le10sport, PSG wanted to recruit Dembele, but the winger had other plans. Tuchel coached Dembele when he was still a teenager at Borussia Dortmund. Ousmane Dembele’s current deal with the Barcelona is set to expire this summer and the winger is not happy with the offer made by Barcelona for his contract extension. He wants a bigger deal, which the club are unable to offer due to their financial struggles as well as Fair Play regulations. Thus, he will not be staying at the Nou Camp for the next season. Ousmane Dembele’s Career At BarcelonaOusmane Dembele joined Barcelona from Dortmund in 2017 for a huge transfer fee of £125 Million. During his stay at the club, the winger made 150 appearances for the Blaugrana, scoring 32 goals and registering 34 assists. After being considered one of the brightest young talents in the world, Dembele failed to live up to the expectations. He did, however, show glimpses of the amazing talent that he is. The Frenchman’s career at Barcelona was marked with persistent injuries, something that turned the fans against him. Chelsea Attack Boosted By The Arrival of Ousmane DembeleWith the arrival of Ousmane Dembele, the Chelsea attack will gain diversity as well as pace. The Blues are lacking in terms of attacking options, and now Lukaku also seems to be on the way out. Securing a talent like Dembele for free may prove to be an amazing move for Chelsea. The post Barcelona Star Ousmane Dembele ACCEPTS Chelsea Transfer Offer And Is Set To Join For FREE first appeared on The Football Lovers and is written by David Habib. from https://thefootballlovers.com/barcelona-ousmane-dembele-chelsea/ According to Spanish news outlet SPORT, Xavi has had a face-to-face meeting with Gerard Pique during which he told the center back that he doesn’t see him as a regular starter next season. Xavi’s main concern with his former team mate is his multiple business interests off the pitch, and it is also believed that the Catalan club owe Pique an estimate of £34.3 Million in wages. The coach also expressed concern with Pique’s regular injuries, saying that he fears possible relapses. Xavi told the veteran that his wages pose a problem for Barcelona’s transfers and future planning. The Barcelona boss is looking to build his team around a fresh defence that he can put his full faith in, and according to Xavi himself, Gerard Pique cannot provide that anymore. On the other hand, Gerard Pique has been positive despite the manager’s verdict on him. The defender has been a key asset to the team as well as one of the leaders of the team on and off the pitch. He is unwilling to give up his time at the Camp Nou. He has vowed to train harder than ever and is willing to ditch some of his off field interests. Gerard, on his part, told the manager that he wants to continue at Barcelona and is ready to prove that he is the best center-back at the club no matter who is signed this summer. Moreover, Pique is also willing to lower his salary to help out the club. The Spaniard has a contract with Barcelona till 2024. It looks like Pique will not leave the club and wants to finish his contract. Not only that, but the defender will fight for his position in the team. When president Joan Laporta told Pique the Blaugrana would be looking at a new center back, he replied: “I’ll be a starter. If you have the guts, bring the best central defender in the world, who will come as a substitute.” The post Gerard Pique Told He Is No Longer Needed At Barcelona Due To His ‘Unprofessional Conduct’ first appeared on The Football Lovers and is written by David Habib. from https://thefootballlovers.com/gerard-pique-barcelona/ Frenkie de Jong AGREES TO A MOVE To Man United But The Reds Need To Pay 80 Million To Barcelona6/12/2022 According to the Athletic journalist Laurie Whitwell, Frenkie de Jong has agreed to join Manchester United. The Dutchman has given a ‘private indication’ to the move, it is explained. Barcelona and Man United are yet to agree on the transfer fee. The Catalans want around €80 Million for the 25-year-old, but the Red Devils are reluctant to pay this much straight away. Manchester United already made an opening bid for the Dutch midfielder, but the bid of around £60 Million plus add-ons was denied by the board of Barcelona. However, even though Xavi is fond of Frenkie de Jong, the Barcelona board want to sell him to raise money for other signings as well as fair play regulations. Frenkie de Jong had already expressed his views, saying that he did not want to leave Camp Nou. “I prefer to stay in Barcelona, I’ve said it before. Barça is the club of my dreams since I was little.” Even the Barcelona boss Xavi admitted that the midfielder was the future of the club. Yet now, it seems like all the parties have decided it is in the mutual benefit for him to move to Old Trafford. Considering the poor transfer policy of the Catalans and their desperate financial situation, this is not a shocker. When Erik Ten Hag first contacted Frenkie de Jong, the midfielder did not seem to interested and cited that Man United failing to qualify for the Champions League was the reason. It seems like his stance on the situation has changed after sources reported a meeting with former manager Ten Hag. Ten Hag explained to De Jong how he is planning to bring the glory years back to Old Trafford. The manager wants to build a team around the Dutch midfielder and is ready to make him the head of the project. He has been advised not to speak publicly about his proposed move to Old Trafford until both United and Barcelona have agreed on a transfer fee. Chelsea and Manchester United are two clubs in the Premier League that have yet to start transfer business of any kind due to different reasons. While Chelsea has just completed the formalities of the club being officially entered under the ownership of Todd Boehly, Manchester United has just made an entire reshuffle of the coaching staff, the board, as well as certain key positions in the hierarchy. But currently, both clubs have their eyes on a player who has been making waves across the continent with his performances and his impact. According to reports, both clubs have been cuddling around PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahima Sangare. The Ivory Coast international has been one of the key players for both his club and country, with the defensive midfielder having an impressive African Cup of Nations for Ivory Coast. Both clubs have been looking for alternative options for Declan Rice, on whom the Hammers have put a rather prohibitive price tag of £150m. With Sangare having a release clause of €35m (£29.9m), this is a player who could be available for a cheap price, with reports in the Netherlands also stating that he has his heart set on a move to the Premier League, indicating that the 24-year-old feels ready and capable of making the next big step as far his career is concerned. Which Premier League Club Will End Up Signing Declan Rice And Who Will Sign An Alternative?Sangare joined the Dutch club in 2020 from the French outfit Toulouse and has established himself to be one of the best midfielders in this season of the Eredivisie. And while he still does have 3 years remaining on his current contract, the fact that he is ready to move means that PSV will be forced to countenance a sale to cash on their asset sooner rather than later. He would be a readymade fit for both clubs, with Chelsea looking for an alternative to N’golo Kante, who has been injured quite often last season, while United has been in the market for years for a defensive midfielder, and now that the only player for that position in Nemanja Matic has left the club as a free agent, now seems the right time to finally make a play for the midfielder that they so desperately need. Both these clubs are giants of the English game, and both have the ability to splash the cash when given, but in the end, only one of these clubs will be successful in getting the player to play in their colours. Whether it is Manchester, London, or any other club, that question remains to be answered. But what is not needed answering is the requirement of both the clubs for that position and the availability of a player in the exact same position. It is just a matter of which team makes the first move. Could this mean the end of the Declan Rice saga? The post No More Declan Rice: Chelsea And Manchester United Turn Their Attention To Alternative first appeared on The Football Lovers and is written by Nitish Bhan. from https://thefootballlovers.com/chelsea-manchester-united-declan-rice/ Over the years in the Premier League, the fans have been well-mannered, and have been able to understand their means as well as their boundaries when it came to causing unruly vents, or even when it came to pitch-invasions. The odd anti-social attack here and there notwithstanding, the fans have displayed something close to a very good sense of exemplary behaviour. But in the recently concluded season of the Premier League, fan troubles have escalated to a level that can only be described as unruly, and borderline dangerous to the players. Towards the end of the season, we have seen multiple instances of pitch invasions across all levels in English football, highlighting the need for improved security forces across the stadiums in the country. In the Premier League, it all started with Everton fans storming on the pitch after they scored the winner which guaranteed their safety in the league after a turbulent season, and that led to some of the fans getting into the face of the Palace manager Patrick Vieira, and after some badmouthing, an irate Vieira kicked the fan to the ground, which bought him a fan and a reprimand as well. Things Can Change With Regards To The Safety Of The Players, Officials And The Fans If The Premier League Does Apply These ChangesBut the biggest stain on fans across the country was put on the final day of the season, when Man City fans stormed onto the field after City completed a memorable comeback, winning 3-2 from 2-0 down to be crowned Champions of England. In the ensuing Fracas, City fans went on to physically assault Villa keeper Robin Olsen. And this has become the final straw for the Premier League to take drastic measures. The Premier League has ensured that the clubs unanimously agree to provide additional stewards in away matches, which ensures player as well as fan safety on a whole. The league hopes to address the issue of the use of various projectiles, missiles, as well as flares that fans carry along, which has been one of the major reasons for disruptions in matches. Apart from this, the League will also work towards addressing this issue along with the other important stakeholders of the league. Premier League CEO Richard Masters said “It is vital that everyone feels safe t a match. Premier League supporters must be reminded it is illegal to enter the pitch at any time. This area is unequivocally for football and under no circumstances should players, managers, match officials, or staff fear for their safety, just as fans should remain protected in the stands. In addition, we have seen an increase in the use of pyrotechnics or missiles, both of which are not only a criminal offence, but can cause serious injury”.
