The top 20 football clubs that have spent the most money on football transfers since 2000 have been revealed. And the results are somewhat shocking to the least. One of the biggest and well known spenders in football are Man City. Manchester City have spent massively since Abu Dhabi United Group bought the club in 2008. The owners have spent billions on acquiring the world’s best players over the past 14 years. They recently announced another big name signing, as they completed the £51 Million acquisition of Erling Haaland. And they are not done this transfer window. Man City could spend even more in the near future, with moves for Brighton’s Marc Cucurella and Leeds’ Kalvin Phillips expected. Yet, even after spending major cash since 2008, Man City are not at the top of the list of highest spending clubs in the 21st century. French outlet PopFoot have revealed the numbers and named the 20 clubs that have spent the most money since 2000. View the clubs who have spent the most money in the 21st century below: 20.
